PEOPLE, Page 49On the CaseBy J.D. Reed/Reported by Wendy Cole
Starting a new job is nerve-racking enough, but if you're John
F. Kennedy Jr., it can be a circus. The son of the late President
was mobbed by the press last week on his first day at the Manhattan
District Attorney's office. "This is embarrassing," said the novice
assistant D.A., who was sworn in with 68 others. "I have to work
with these people." He will earn $30,000 a year handling
consumer-fraud and corruption cases. Before he settles into the
job, he has had to clean up his own record. For one thing, he
shelled out $2,357 for 62 unpaid city parking tickets.
